ALLIED HEALTH 
INSTITUTE


EXPLORE DENTAL HYGIENE:  Could I become a dental hygienist?  This institute is designed to offer a glimpse into the rewarding career of dental hygiene and the role a dental hygienist plays in the allied healthcare field.  Students will experience activities that show how Cabrillo dental hygiene students learn

ASTRONOMY INSTITUTE

 

EXPLORE ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY: Young Astronomers will learn to operate different telescope systems, including the big scope under the dome, which provides practice similar to that at professional observatories.  You will team up to do imaging of a beautiful deep sky target of their choosing, and we will teach you how astronomers process these images to bring out their best.

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE

EXPLORE COMPUTER BUILDING: (Hardware & Software):  Students will tear down and build up a computer system from beginning to end, learning all necessary component names.  Students will also build software programs.  Tasks include: Format (erase) a disk, load an Operating System, Configure system with programs and get it Internet ready, download Microsoft Updates

EXPLORE CONSTRUCTION AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT -Students will spend the week at our state of the art Platinum LEED Certified Solari Green Technology Center in Watsonville.  During this hands-on workshop, students will explore the exciting career options in construction & energy management learning skills
