DIGITAL MEDIA INSTITUTES

EXPLORE ARTFUL DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY:  Learn the basics of artful digital photography & graphic art image editing with Adobe Photoshop. Students will learn how to; color correct, process, edit, make selections & cut-outs, collage, apply text and more to create a mini portfolio of finished images. Students will learn how to enhance their photography shooting skills using elements of natural & studio lighting. Students will also learn where & how to print their photographs on canvas, t-shirts, I phone cases & more. (digital camera / cell phone camera recommended but not required).

EXPLORE MOTION GRAPHICS:  Perfect for budding young filmmakers & animators.  Students will learn the basics of motion graphics to create their own broadcast quality presentations around a topic of their choosing which can be displayed online. Students will learn how to storyboard their ideas for communication to incorporate text, video, graphics, special effects, explosions & more into their projects. Students will learn how to use Apple (Motion) from Final Cut Studio, the same software television stations, ad agencies & video production companies use.

Instructor Bio
Alixandra Mullins has been a professional media & graphic designer for over a decade. Alix has created a wide variety of digital media projects ranging from greeting cards sold world-wide, album covers, websites,  licensed Puzzle Art, to animations for television & video production using the latest media tools . Alix has also in the past taught as a college-level instructor for the Digital Media Departments at Gavilan College & Cabrillo College.


EXPLORE VIDEO PRODUCTION:  Students will learn video production techniques, camera work and even some simple special effects.  Students will work in teams to shoot, edit and share TV. commercials, short stories and documentaries.  http://ropdigitalphotography.blogspot.com

Instructor Bio
Seth Wilson is a graphic designer and animator with over 15 years experience.  He has been teaching high school classes in digital media for four years and is currently teaching six different subjects at Santa Cruz High School including web design, graphic design, video production, digital photography, desktop publishing and animation.
