Explore Computer Building

Explore Computer Building

Students will take apart and build back up a computer system from beginning to end, learning all major and necessary component names and the functions of these components.  Tasks include: Take all components apart to the smallest component, formatting a disk (erasing), load and configure the Operating System (OS), and get it user ready.  Get the hands-on experiences necessary to get a computer working again after disassembling it. There is an in-depth look at all components of a computer system along with necessary software to run it. This is a great opportunity for students to experience taking apart a computer and then putting it back to together to get it working properly again. The student will be able to finish the class with the pride and confidence of being able to build their own new computer. Students for this class should have an aptitude for discovery and inquiry and would like to have a hands-on and intellectual experience.
