Creating Lifelong Opportunities: All Students College and Career Read
y

Santa Cruz County College Commitment (S4C) is a collaborative of educators, administrators, and counselors including ten k-12 school districts, three colleges, and the County Office of Education.

The goal of S4C is to increase post-secondary access and attainment for students in Santa Cruz County.

S4C serves as a backbone for college and career readiness initiatives in the county by bringing together local educational organizations around a shared vision. S4C facilitates and organizes a variety of countywide programs and activities to promote college and career readiness such as annual elementary and middle school visits to colleges, ongoing teacher professional development for mathematics, counselor professional development, and cross-institutional mathematics articulation efforts. Some of these programs include:

  • 4th grade Cabrillo College Experience
  • 7th grade UCSC & CSUMB College Summits
  • S4C and Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative Teacher Summer Institute
  • S4C and Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative Twilight Teacher Professional Development Series
  • Santa Cruz County Counselor Network and Summit
